Transformative work that moves people

Translink and Whitenoise

As our most longstanding client, we have worked with Translink continuously since 2000 on hundreds of creative projects, from concept to full implementation across all media and channels. Our work is both wide-ranging and award-winning, from communication campaigns to marketing collateral, corporate publications, bus and train livery design, signage schemes, video and animation production and more.

"Whitenoise has been our lead design agency since 2000. Throughout this time their innovative, highly responsive approach, robust and transparent processes and strong communication set them apart for us. They are generous with their support and always go the extra mile where required in order to achieve the outcomes we need."
Clare Costello, Head of Digital and Customer Information, Translink

Climate Change animation

Whitenoise was tasked with the design, production and delivery of a suite of presentation and communication tools for Translink's presence at the COP26 Conference in Glasgow.

The project encompassed animated explainer films, titled and branded voxpops, keynote presentations, pre and post event promotional content and outreach materials for school and youth engagement. Utilising a highly effective illustration style and art direction, music selection and voiceover recording and production, each element built a strong corporate message communicating Translink's response and commitments to climate change action. We developed a novel overall design direction for the project, developing a character and animation style that was distinctly unique and very different to Translink's typical corporate approach in visual communications, providing strong 'eyes on' visual impact and a compelling viewer experience.

“Whitenoise captured the brief perfectly and worked closely with our team to create a captivating result for our contribution at the COP26 conference, which was beautifully simple in style yet covered all our key and fundamental messages."
Charlotte Richardson, PR Manager, Translink

Maps and signage

An IDI (Irish Design Institute) award-winning project, the Translink Metro wayfinding scheme comprised new Metro stand signage around the city centre, bus stop flags, a Glider corridor map and branding at the Dundonald and Colin Connect Glider Park & Ride termini, as well as a novel new Metro map for the city.

Designed foremost from a user experience perspective and with clarity and ease of use in mind, this project was a true labour of love and has received universal praise from all stakeholders alongside industry acknowledgement. Meeting with universal passenger approval, the scheme is now being rolled out across the entire Ulsterbus network, province-wide.
