An Easy Read…

29 Mar

It’s magazine time again, with the latest editions of Translink’s ‘Expresslines’, Northern Bank’s ‘Northern News’ and Invest NI’s ‘InvestIN’, all back from the printers.

First up here’s Christine’s Expresslines…

Next we have Northern News by little old me…

And finally we have Lynsay’s InvestIN…

Aren’t they all delightful?

Now for some completely unrelated but equally exciting news – we can confirm that Ryan has conquered his deepest fears and successfully passed his driving test – and the streets of Belfast are safe once more:

That’s your lot for now… keep checking back for more…

Groan…

24 Mar

Hmmm… It only seems like a few weeks ago (actually, it was – check my post for 17 February) that we had a wee celebratory dance as we cracked open our 10,000th job number, and just this very morning we’re over a hundred jobs past that…  When will this madness end?!?

Busy Busy…

24 Mar

We’re still busy as bees in bee factory just before home time. When the boss is doing a factory walk with some important visitors. Here’s an example: we’re beavering away on various promotional bits and pieces for the InterTrade Ireland ‘Shaping Recovery’ Economic Forum, and here’s the site that Adam built (in record time, so he tells me)…

And here for your viewing pleasure, as we liked it so much, we’ve uploaded Peedy’s work in progress for the Stephen Nolan Show. It’s a variation on the in-house advert they produced at BBC NI, which we’ve added some motion tracking to help tell the story of all the guys in the Nolan Team…

Survitec meanwhile are continuing to ramp up their marketing activities, requiring us to photograph sexy RAF pilots in sexy flightsuits, with sexy Eurofighters in the background, all allowing yours truly to do some sexy design…

Did I say sexy too many times there? Sorry. What’s next? oh yes, our good friends at Allstate Corporation desperately need 300 new staff – happy days! You may have seen Lynsay’s recruit posters around town…

…and keep checking back here to see the viral recruit ad campaign we’re currently editing too.

That’s your daily dose…

Inspiring…

23 Mar

Inspiring is a great word for what Ralph Ardill had to say at last night’s Northern Ireland Design Alliance event at the University of Ulster in Belfast. Ralph was very straight-talking and honest about his experiences and the work he’s done both for the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin and in recent years for Manchester brewery JW Lees – very insightful, very practical and very useful – I’m sure all those who made it would agree, and to those who didn’t – you really missed something. My only regret was that it wasn’t recorded – something to address for the next event, perhaps.

The turnout was high – well over a hundred – split equally between design students and practitioners in the industry. Great to hear from a local talent too – Pete Kerr of Atto told us a little about his experiences setting up a fledging studio – all good stuff. Here’s a few (unfortunately very fuzzy) pics…

Keep checking back for more news on Northern Ireland Design Alliance events, and bookmark their site too.

Just Don’t Ask…

22 Mar

Peedy. With a live snake. In Allstate’s Belfast HQ. Just don’t ask…

Yep – it’s just another day in Whitenoise.
