We’re pleased to announce Whitenoise have been appointed as the graphic design partner for Carrickfergus Borough Council, after a fierce pitching process.

Having worked with them in the past (2004-2007) we’re delighted to have the opportunity to do so again and having put heart and soul into our presentation, we are excited and exhausted in equal measure. Now I just need to lie down and close my eyes for five minutes… Zzzzz…

Whitenoise are seriously contributing to the energy crisis at the moment, as lots of midnight oil is currently being burnt fuelling the feverish pace of activity as we rush to meet various project deadlines.

Those of you who are regular visitors to this blog may be bypassing our home page entirely, and if that’s the case you may be blissfully unaware that we are spending quite a bit of time renovating our website too…

Sticking with websites, check out the lovely new one for our mates Dave and Jim at NewcastleGateshead Evolution, with smashing design courtesy of our very own Christine…

Moving on swiftly from websites, Peedy was pleased as punch to see the fruits of his labours broadcast last night on BBC Northern Ireland, with the launch of ‘House of the Year’ presented by Mr Frills, Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen (did I spell tht right??)…

And sticking with the Beeb, here’s Peedy again greasing up to Mr Stephen Nolan on the shoot of the new promo trail for the Stephen Nolan Show…

And in between all this tomfoolery we’re still managing to get lots of lovely work done, so keep checking back for more of the good stuff…

Some of our bestest work ever…

17 Feb

I promised you some nice new work in the last post. It’s great to work on mega projects with big budgets but some of our bestest work ever is small but beautifully formed – just like these two great wee jobs:

Baby-Allen

Say hello to Paul & Nicola’s son, Sam. That’s Paul struggling to get him into his footie kit.

And here’s the (as yet sex unknown) 2nd addition to the Jeffers clan – with feet like that it look’s like Rory and Jacci have got either a footballer or a dancer on their hands…

WORKING SOME BIG NUMBERS… This week is going to be a significant one in the history of Whitenoise: This morning saw us open up Job Number 9991 (renewal/update of a CMS database for the SS Nomadic website) so I suspect before the week is out we will have started on Job Number 10,000… And they said we’d never last! I have no idea who the lucky client will be but I guess we need to mark the occasion in some way – if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Eagle-eyed blog followers among you will notice just below the yellow post it is a note on the ‘10,000′ line reminding us all about the next Whitenoise book – tentatively titled ‘DECADE’ (for obvious reasons, as this is our 10th anniversary, although it will actually only be the seventh in the series) – keep checking back for more on this…

SOME MORE INTERESTING NEWS… This week also saw us take delivery of ‘BASIC LOGOS’ from our friends at Index Publishing in Barcelona, and we’re delighted to see that they chose to include four of our client identities…

BUSY BUSY… I know we all have our own opinions and feelings as to whether the economy is out of recession or not, but the studio is certainly a hive of activity at the moment. Obviously volume of work doesn’t always directly equate with profitability, but it’s good to know that we’re all being kept occupied on client projects – and if we’re busy, our clients must be too – witness the production office job board…

There’s a lot of projects which have quite long lead times up there, so I don’t have anything to show right now, but keep checking back for some big news over the next week or so – I’ll keep you posted.
